Supporting Multilingualism Booklet 4 (ELI Series)

The first brief sets a rationale for multilingual classrooms; spaces ensuring rightful inclusion of the child's languages, culture and experiences, in addition to giving some essential tips for creating multilingual environment in classrooms. The second brief presents some interesting insights from a six week-long research study on using Multilingual pedagogy in English teaching (more specifically, on the use of regional language as a bridge between English and the tribal mother tongues of students). 
This booklet introduces the reader to the idea of using mother tongue and multilingualism in a language and literacy classroom.
